(Santa Fe Springs, CA – November 15, 2004) Enhance Technology, a leading supplier of storage systems to the IT industry, is expanding into the peripheral CE markets with the introduction of their new 4GB TinyDrive™ product line through their peripheral division, ioSWAP (www.ioswap.com). Smaller than a business card in a slick titanium-coated casing, the ioSWAP TinyDrive™ provides huge 2.2GB and 4GB mobile capacities, plus a price tag that is unmatched in the peer products group.
Enhance Technology was founded in 1997 and the company’s first products were geared exclusively to the Information Technology market and included removable drive modules manufactured by Enhance for OEM customers. In 2000, Enhance introduced MPD, Mini Pocket Disk, the first portable USB storage device in the United States and the first 2.5” hard drive based product with built-in lithium battery marketed directly by the company. This early entry in the portable storage market resulted in this more mobile and polished TinyDrive™ line of storage products.
No messy cable or bulky power adapter ever needed, the TinyDrive™ fits right into your pocket and with the innovative swivel connector design, it plugs directly into a USB port and is ready to swap data between systems or notebooks. On a single 2.2GB TinyDrive™ can store up to 635 MP3 songs or to1950 Photos (DSC 1MB). And data is protected with an automatic backup/sync software for PC, (retail value at $ 49.95), keeping your file/data up to date. Optional Sync software is also available for qualifid Mac buyer*. TinyDrive is plug & play-compatible with Windows® 98SE*/ME/2000/XP or higher as well as Macintosh® 9.x OS and higher operating systems and Linux® kernel version 2.6.x (RedHat, Suse, and Turbo Linux) and higher systems. (*Windows 98SE requires Internet access for downloading the driver.)
Even though Enhance did not enter the retail market until recently, the company’s first retail product 2.2GB TinyDrive has been widely adopted by content creators, software developers, IT professionals, digital photo and music enthusiasts, to store, share and transport large data files, presentations, photos, music and video.
One executive from Huntington Beach, California based HDL Corporation, Mike Thurston, is impressed with TinyDrive’s size and ease of use. “I didn’t realize this tiny little device can allow my graphic designer to exchange data between a Window-based PC to Mac without going through all the hassles”, said Mike Thurston, as he continued “and he’d done it in seconds”.
The company’s future product road map includes the 6GB TinyDrive in the first quarter of 2005. TinyDrive is available for immediate delivery in 2.2GB and 4GB capacities. Pricing starts at $ 165 for the 2.2GB and $ 228 for the 4GB. The products are available directly from www.ioswap.com or through a number of resellers in the United States.
