It comes with a hardware embedded RAID engine that wraps Four (4) SATA 3Gbps disks into one RAID protected (0, 5) volume, while connecting to a host computer with either USB, FireWire or eSATA port. The EnhanceRAID™ R4 CR1000 is ideal for SMB backup, workgroup productivity, email archive, and provides the fastest, simplest, safest way to share protected data between desktops, networks and work groups.

The R4 CR1000 features high-speed SRAM for streamlining data transfer and buffering, and offers RAID data protection while delivers satisfying performance for most applications with the low-latency XOR logic, and efficient I/O optimization processing intelligence. Drive failure detection, automatic drive rebuild, hot spare assignment and background rebuild, make it possible for users to monitor and address system conditions.
