The snapshot is a mirror image for the existing logical volume with the same data. This feature allows consistent backup of data in minutes, not hours, without system downtime. And since snapshot is done on the controller level, no special software is necessary to do snapshots.

The EnhanceRAID Snapshot on the Box not only ensures consistent data backup, but also availability. A snapshot can be brought online without lengthy database rebuilds. In the event of data corruption, a last known good snapshot in time can be used to recover a system in minutes, and not hours or days as in traditional backup solutions.
